Hi! I'm Emma, a designer based in Brooklyn, NY.
Growing up as an avid reader and creative writer, I experimented with photography, graphic design, and journalism, which gave me ways to tell stories and solve problems.
In college I transitioned into UX design, combining my love for narrative with my interest in technology. I honed my skills at Dartmouth's Digital Arts and Innovation Lab, where I worked all through college as a UX/UI designer.

Over 8 years ago I began with small clients, focusing on user research, analytics and user interface design. I then joined startups, attracted freelance clients, and worked at firms where I collaborated to solve interesting problems.
These experiences paved the way for my current role at a large fintech organization, where I tackle design projects that combine research, design, and business strategy.

Whether I'm crafting a memoir or delving into a research project, people are always at the heart of my creations. I've found that data-backed design not only improves functionality but also fosters a deeper connection with users, who are never just users; they're also students, patrons, lawyers, teachers, admins, consultants, parents, healthcare workers... the list goes on.

When I'm not designing, you can find me at a spin class, exploring new restaurants, walking through Domino Park, seeing some live music, or lamenting the G train. I also enjoy trivia nights, diving into a good book, helping people make new connections, sharing meals with friends, and reflecting on my experiences through writing.
